The Interfaith Stewards project is developed and implemented by an environmental consulting firm in cooperation with the City of Irving, Texas.
Lori De La Cruz, ABC – Principal, Blue Marble Media, LLC
Blue Marble Media, LLC, is an environmental education firm specializing in composting, recycling and sustainability education, marketing and consulting.
Lori has been developing and implementing environmental education programs since 1995.
With more than 15 years of municipal marketing experience and more than 20 years of graphic design experience, Lori creates and implements the marketing plans and materials for environmental educational programs. Lori is a SWANA-certified Recycling Systems Manager (Solid Waste Association of North America), Master Composter and Master Composter Trainer. She has completed the Sustainability for Leaders Certificate program from The Natural Step, and has also earned the Accredited Business Communicator (ABC) designation from the International Association of Business Communicators.
Lori's honors include numerous awards for recycling and composting education programs from the U.S. Conference of Mayors, North Texas Corporate Recycling Association, Texas Corporate Recycling Council and Tarrant County Corporate Recycling Council.
Fran Witte – Solid Waste Programs & Marketing Supervisor, City of Irving, Texas
Fran Witte is currently serving as the Solid Waste Programs and Marketing Supervisor for the City of Irving. She has been instrumental in developing and implementing educational programs to stimulate interest in as well as action from residents and businesses in the Irving area to utilize Irving’s award winning recycling drop-off and curbside diversion programs.
Fran has been instrumental in the creation and implementation of Keep Irving Beautiful, Irving’s award winning Master Composter Training program, coordinating programs and activities at the Max G. Greiner Outdoor Environmental Center, developing and coordinating Irving’s municipal in-house recycling program, Earth Day and Texas Recycles Day projects, household hazardous waste program with Dallas County, on-going electronic recycling efforts and numerous grants.
She has received numerous awards for her efforts in the environmental field including the 2002 DCCRC Environmental Vision Award; 2002 DCCRC Individual Communication Award; 2002 Recycling Alliance of Texas Outstanding Environmental Public Education and Outreach Award; 2002 Rick Fuszek Memorial Award; and the 2003 Marilyn May Award; Winner of the 2005 North Texas Corporate Recycling Association Vision Award for Partnerships; 2005 3CMA Savvy Award First Place Winner for Creative Marketing and Communications; and 2005 TAMIO finalist for the category of Marketing.
